Over the past 20+ years we have grown to be recognized as the voice of software reliability. From its humble beginnings in 1990, it has become a conference that has a unique element to it: a rare combination of strong research and industry participation. Unlike the conferences which are either centred academically or industrially, we are a rich combination of both! In recent years, our data tells us that we are almost evenly split. This is a huge accomplishment for any conference. And, this was no accident. The core leadership of the conference has targeted this goal and created programs that allow the top tier of research and industry to interact on issues of current importance. That we have actually approached this target over the past five to eight years is of immense satisfaction to us. Papers will be assessed with criteria appropriate to each category. ISSRE looks for works exploring new territory, continuing a significant research, or reflecting on practical experience. While full research manuscripts should explore a specific technology problem and propose a complete solution to it, with extensive experimental results, practical experience reports are expected to provide an in-depth exposition of practitioner experiences and empirical studies. On the other hand, WAP papers are expected to present less developed but highly innovative ideas related to areas relevant to ISSRE, aiming at inspiring discussion among conference attendees and getting people thinking about open research challenges. WAP papers are not meant to be Fast Abstracts, or shorter (unfinished) research papers. Submissions will be judged on originality, significance, correctness and (potential) impact. This year, we are debuting a review process with a Program Committee (which will review submissions in the same way as in previous ISSRE editions) and a new Program Board (PB). Each submission will be assigned to one member of the Program Board, who will not directly review the submission; instead, he/she will oversee the reviews by the PC, moderate the online discussion to help to reach a decision, and report about the paper at the PC/PB meeting. After the papers have been reviewed but prior to the PC/PB meeting, the reviews will be made available to the authors for rebuttal. During the rebuttal period, which is from June 28th to July 1st, authors will have the opportunity to correct factual errors in the reviews. Please note that this is NOT a forum to add any additional information on the paper, to submit an updated or revised paper, or to list changes the authors promise to include in the final version. Author responses will be made available to all PC/PB members before the paper is discussed for selection in the PC/PB meeting. There will be a best paper award given to a paper in the main research track. Both full research papers and practical experience reports are eligible for the award. FORMATTING GUIDELINES Papers must be written in English, and be formatted according to the IEEE Computer Society Format Guidelines. Papers that exceed the page limits specified below, or are outside the scope of the symposium, or do not follow the formatting guidelines will be rejected without review.
